Lunar Eclipse
in: Virgo 12° March 3, 2026 @ 11:37 am GMT March 3, 2026 @ 03:37 am PST -8
Sun is Pisces, 12° 54'
Moon is Virgo, 12° 54' Today's lunar eclipse belongs to the 133rd lunar saros series that originated on May 23, 1557 in the 10th nodal family from the Southern hemisphere. This eclipse occurred on the 1st degree of Sagittarius which carries over into each subsequent eclipse event of this particular series. Today's Virgo eclipse brings with it a hint of open spirit and adventure. The lunar eclipse is a full moon that will be receiving the total eclipse impact from its relationship to the Sun as the Earth moves directly between the Sun and Moon today. It won't matter where we live, as long as we can see the full moon, we will get to see the red hue cast by the Earth's shadow. No need for special protective glasses for this one. Today's full moon, the Worm Moon, in Virgo occurs while the Sun is in the sign of Pisces, suggesting that we are well aware of our feelings today, adding to our desire to find emotional balance. We may be connected to others who are also working for similar balance. The Sun and Moon are forming a wedge pattern aspect to Jupiter retrograde in Cancer, encouraging us to rethink or reflect on our current situations. We gauge a lot of our luck on Jupiter's placement in the chart, and while we may currently be of the mindset that we are not currently having the usual opportunities that we would like, we forget that much of that luck depends on our own decisions, opinions, and options that we open ourselves up for. Putting luck aside, look for friendships that we truly respect and know in our hearts that they will be truthful about and also accepting of what we are hoping to gain. Mercury in Pisces is transiting retrograde until March 20th. Mercury's retrograde influence typically causes concerns involving matters associated to communication, travel snafus, and mistakes in legal contracts. Throw Pisces into the mix, and we may feel this more in areas involving medical facilities, confusion of dates and times, foggy recollections of past memories, and in general, our attempts to help are met with resistance. The key to working with Mercury retrograde is taking our time before making decisions. Don't be in a hurry to complete a task. Take a little extra time to review the details. Check for typos and word omissions before signing or sending. Think about the words that are coming out of our mouths. Reflect on comments, before uttering them. In other words, listen to the silence in the moment, before reacting, to get a better sense of where the moment is headed. Venus in the latter degrees of Pisces is sextile to Uranus in Taurus. This is the strongest of the aspect interactions to Uranus today. Sudden awareness involving relationships and friendships are likely to appear from seemingly nowhere. Mars is on the cusp of Pisces today. While Mars is square to Uranus, it is an out of sign square, watering down the potential for violence or aggression, yet, there may be outbursts still, simply because there is likely to be confusion. Be aware of actions versus reactions. No one "causes" us to choose to react violently, yet we may feel as though it is someone else's fault that we made that choice. Mostly, we can resist our reactionary impulse by reflecting on what is the root cause of it. Saturn and Neptune are in the sign of Aries, forming sextile aspects to Uranus in Taurus. These are also out of sign, that minimize the Uranus influence and traits of these aspects. While Uranus won't be back into Gemini until the end of April, for the moment, we will feel some of the typical desires expressed through these two aspects. Saturn wants us to find a sense of balance, and occasionally, we just kind of stumble into a new idea that may, or may not work out for us. Neptune's expression of revelations at this time can be formed through a new awareness, a new encounter, or reworked through old realizations. We need to recognize that Neptune's influence is rarely clear and straight forward. Saturn and Neptune are also sextile to Pluto in Aquarius, which is in-sign and stronger now. Pluto's influence should feel more intense, causing our desire to change aspects of ourselves that no longer feel effective in our lives. Change typically does not happen over night, however the changes occurring during the eclipses will feel more dramatic than usual. All in all, today's lunar eclipse has the potential to inspire awareness and courage. At the same time, it could potentially cause distress and heart break. Our internal fortitude is strengthened with the seven planetary placements in feminine signs. Yet will still struggle, emotionally, to find comfort in carrying the burdens. There is only one planet in an Air Element sign, indicating that our sense of adjusting or adapting is somewhat restricted, today. We may need to rely on other personal strengths to get us through this day. We may need to re-think and re-imagine our current situation in order to move forward.
